HOW CAN I GET A SHARKIE’S MOUTHGUARD?

• Contact us to set up a Sharkie's team visit so we can take dental impressions
• Complete an order/payment form including a medical history and consent form (parents must sign for children under 18 years old)
• Choose your colours and design
• Pay with VISA, Mastercard, Debit or Cash
• One week later, your ready-to-wear mouthguard will be delivered to you or your coach

WHY WEAR A MOUTHGUARD?

All athletes who are in contact sports should wear a mouthguard. One of the most important reasons is not just to protect your teeth but to protect your brain. Did you know that most of the concussions that occur in sports result from a blow to the jaw? If your mouthguard is properly made on a mould of your own teeth, it can better cushion the impact of sudden contact with sports equipment or other players than the "boil and bite" type. It is one of the most important pieces of athletic equipment you can own.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A mouthguard is a shock absorber. The thick layers of material the cover and separate your upper and lower teeth helps protect your teeth from damage due to direct blows and when the lower teeth suddenly hit the upper teeth. It will also prevent the ball of your jaw joint (condyle) from being driven into the base of your brain (temporal bone) on impact causing concussion, brain injury and even neck injuries.

Levels of Protection:

NOVICE or STANDARD – EVA energy absorbing resin with .150 thickness meeting OMHA standards. Single colours including neons, gold and silver

PRO – Triple Layer laminate – heat/vacuum formed. Pro-form option with extra support for front teeth available. Custom designs for most pro level mouthguards are included in price.

$60 (team order)

ELITE – Top of the line heat-pressure laminate for pro level athletes or those who participate in high contact sports such as boxing. Custom designs available.

$95 and up

Special orders with team colour combinations require a minimum order of 12.
